| Description: | The aim of the subject is to summarise the design knowledge acquired to date, building on the knowledge gained in previous design modules; to further develop this knowledge thro-ugh the design of a complex building on a scale different from those encountered previous-ly; and to begin preparing students for truly ‘complex’ architectural thinking. The course’s in-tended design spectrum ranges from the analysis of the urban and site context, through concept development, to the shaping of the building and its defining details. The funda-mental working method of the course is group work, which is characteristic of the first part of the semester and is followed by the development of individual assignment components. Teamwork is a distinctive feature of this module, which, within the context of university de-sign studies, most closely models the process of mutual knowledge transfer characteristic of design practice. The aim is to illustrate the relationships between people and buildings, between buildings and their environment, and to demonstrate the necessity of adapting buildings and the spaces between them to human needs and scales. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
